In the summer of 2000, while on tour with Shemekia,we opened several dates for This was taken backstage in London. I watched him from the side of the stage every night. I'm the one who got the guitar lessons!

This picture was taken on my birthday at Iridium, NYC.
Les called me onstage, but, since I didn't have a guitar
with me, he gave
me his "Les Paul" to play
and said "I'm going to the bar for a drink."
After the show, we talked in the lobby for over an hour.
It was one of my most memorable birthdays.
